Job Title:  Product Manager, Marketing

Location: Santa Barbara, CA

 

Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing and strategies and tactics, and leading the organization in achieving commercial targets for the Deflux and Solesta brands.  The position will develop and execute a clear vision for how the Company describes the value of the Deflux and Solesta products and drives the execution of that vision.  The position will ensure PLS develops customer-centric messaging, stories, case studies, videos, and presentations, and deploys them effectively across all direct and digital communication streams. The position will build a social media strategy for both Deflux and Solesta to effectively drive awareness, create influencers and build an effective bridge between healthcare professionals and patients.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Product Ownership: Create product positioning, value proposition and messaging platforms that resonate with the Company’s customers and key stakeholders

  • Product Influence: Represent the voice of the market, including qualitative and quantitative feedback from users, and influence the Product by prioritizing critical changes and future product offerings, product marketing collateral and PR initiatives

  • Product Experience: Collaborate closely with partner teams to build great product experiences that address customer needs

  • Product Champion: Develop a deep understanding of the buying audience by gathering insights around the ecommerce market, competitors, industry trends, target personas, buyer needs and the purchasing decision process. Utilize this information to establish best practices around who to target and which deliverables and strategies will ensure successful campaigns for future releases

  • Product Expansion: identify market expansion opportunities for the Company’s products and lead coordinated efforts accordingly

  • Strategic Lead: Lead comprehensive go-to-market strategy and drive product adoption in the market (via sales activation, marketing campaigns, press releases, social media, scaled education, etc.)

  • Marketing Optimization: Drive channel (social media) or program optimization to maximize efficiency. Lead net new channel experimentation to drive increased exposure and conversions rates

  • Global Brand: Support global distributors in driving awareness and adoption of Deflux and Solesta

  • Agency Management: Manage the Company’s social media agency for Deflux and Solesta

  • Conference Presence: Manage the presence of the Company at Deflux and Solesta industry meetings

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree

  • 5+ years experience in a life sciences (medical device) product management or product marketing role

  • 2+ years of team management experience

  • Exceptional team player with the ability to lead through influence and drive high-impact outcomes across the organization

  • Cross-functional skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating and influencing partners and managing key stakeholders

  • Strong communication and presentation skills: this person will regularly work closely with both internal teams and customers

  • A depth of knowledge in medical device product management, new product development and launch, marketing strategy development

  • Medical social media marketing strategic & executional experience

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate, in teams and as a sub-team lead

  • Hands-on and results-oriented: this person will own many projects from start to finish

  • Ability to learn new products and evaluate them in the competitive environment

  • Exceptional writing skills that emphasize value storytelling rather than jargon

  • Strong strategic, analytical, and synthesis skills to solve and prioritize business challenges

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a bias for action

  • Energy and enthusiasm to operate within a fast-growing, fast-changing environment; start-up experience a plus

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%

  • Understands business on a global scale
