Who Is Solesta Appropriate For? - Palette Life Sciences

Solesta is a simple and quick option for fecal incontinence for patients over 18 years old who have failed conservative therapy (1)


SOLESTA HAS MINIMAL POST-PROCEDURE IMPACT ON PATIENTS (1)

  • Patients may resume limited physical activity immediately

  • Patients are able to resume a normal lifestyle and engage in all physical activities after 1 week (e.g. jogging, bicycling, horseback riding, sexual intercourse, etc.)

  • Solesta is unlikely to impede future procedures


SOLESTA IS CONTRAINDICATED IN PATIENTS WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: (1)

  • Active inflammatory bowel disease

  • Immunodeficiency disorders or ongoing immunosuppressive therapy

  • Previous radiation treatment to the pelvic area

  • Significant mucosal or full thickness rectal prolapse

  • Active anorectal conditions, including abscess, fissures, sepsis, bleeding, proctitis, or other infections

  • Anorectal atresia, tumors, stenosis, or malformation

  • Rectocele

  • Rectal varices

  • Presence of existing implant (other than Solesta) in anorectal region

  • Allergy to hyaluronic acid based products


Solesta is an injectable outpatient product for the treatment of fecal incontinence in patients 18 years and older who have failed conservative therapy (e.g. diet, fiber therapy, antimotility medications, pelvic floor exercises (Kegels), biofeedback).
